wk 5 picks college football

Indoctrination comes through support, love, and offers of better/more. You can have this and that if you join us or believe in him. We will support you and show you the way, maybe give you a place to stay or a bite to eat. Even help you make for a better life, learn how to do for yourself, better your station. Pretty powerful, and if done intrinsically, some of the better stuff humanity has to offer. Unfortunately this often is accompanied with the evil sides of humanity, like bigotry, hatred, power, and control. Groups with an agenda to grow their power, spread their message, and all too often intolerant of those that are different or unwilling to conform.
What happens when those forces need to turn loyalty and indoctrination from membership to action? A different kind of motivation, no more hugs/promises of a better life (maybe even an afterlife)/70 virgins/a chosen tribe; a motivation known a fear!! The possible loss of what you have come to hold dear can motivate people to extremely positive and extremely negative actions. It can motivate people to subhuman strengths to lift a car or motivate to learn, learn, and apply till a cure is found or a treatment to prolong life etc etc etc… Sadly it can lead to hate, violence and worse. Fanatical actions like dictatorship and terrorism are born of controlling fears of the masses and then motivating to action as the only solution to ending their fears.

What the F does that have to do with College Football?

Nothing conventionally speaking, other than to make an analogy that illustrates the power of fear and why it is important.

Joe Bauserman is a nice guy, he can date any (of age) woman I know. Braxton brings what an offense needs more than anything in football – FEAR. He isn’t perfect and the growing pains will be painful to watch at time and ultimately he might never be great. Yet he has the ability to maybe be great one day and in the short term he puts some FEAR in opposing defenses. That allows more holes in running game, more open WR’s, plain and simple more options. I’m so happy the coaches have let him lose to learn on the job and bring possibility/promise to this team and this season. As a buckeye fan I know I will struggle to not be mad when he makes mistakes he certainly will. We must stand behind this kid, he is our best chance and seems to have the poise and ability to learn quickly and be great. Move over Toni, there is a new Braxton!! (Ok, I just want to see if anyone actually remembers her?)

Enough diarrhea of the mouth on to my picks…

10 pts – Wisc wins, sadly if bucky badger is ever to luck into an undefeated season it will be this yr. I hate wisc without respect because I just don’t buy the hype and that they are so squeaky clean, something fishy there but I can’t place it. Anyway, they have a QB to go with all that talent and I think at home they will win all games easily, if they slip up it will be on the road and hopefully (but doubtfully) will be at the shoe!!

9 pts – Utah wins, not sure why I have this so high or feel so strongly, but just don’t see the huskies winning a lot or on the road.

8 pts – Latech wins, umm? Again no idea on this, but going against jet lag and back to ‘fear’, if I was from Hawaii I’d be very very afraid in the bayou!!

7 pts – S. Car wins, better take care of Auburn at home or no magic season for the ole ball coach.

6 pts – Clemson wins, damn but Clemson is good, they win even when their QB makes a hilariously bad turnover!! I know Va Tech is hard place to go and get a win on the road, but I think they will.

5 pts – Baylor wins, I was leaning towards kst after their win at Miami last week, but then I remembered that Baylor has a sick QB and that kst beat fucking Jacory Harris who will never never win a game against a good team (unless they play a midget for 75% of the game)!! Breath breath, move on move on… ok I’m better.

4 pts – Texas wins, why o why am I going with them longhorns on the road? Well they can’t stay down forever? Can they?

3 pts – Fla wins, that’s right I’m going upset and hoping it pays off big (gotta take chances to make up some points) and it is in the swamp! Fla has something they have been missing for awhile (and is often overlooked with their flash) a really good rb and running game. Bama does have a sick defense, but I’m looking for fla to make a loud loud we are back statement this weekend.

2 pts – Bucks win, I just think at home with our running game and hopefully an improving Braxton we will get the best of sparty. My biggest concern (besides turnovers obviously) is our linebackers. They have got to pull their shit together and play better, more specifically – play consistent. We shall see. Go Bucks!!

1 pt – A&M wins, what a toss up game!! Will the Aggies show up for the entire game? Played a great half against ok st and then aggied all over themselves in the second half!! Ark seems to have lots of lots of injuries.

Good luck to ME!! Sorry, being selfish I need some luck in college football, I’m starting to feel like the Illinois of our league. Lots of promise, every yr people point me out as a team to look out for and then barf barf all over the place!!

How happy am I?

Today the news that Braxton Miller is going to get his shot to start and hopefully a real one where he can just play without worrying over being yanked for a mistake. I'm not even positive he will pan out to be great, but I know this for sure, he has the ability, so give him the chance and lets see what happens.

Now, how happy does this decision make me? This happy!!!...

week 4 picks

Where to start? Well last week my picks were ok, I’m actually doing ok in standings (6th out of 19) but it feels like driving an old sports car that hasn’t been serviced in 10 years – things are going good, but the steering or engine surely will crap out any minute. We shall see…

A short synopsis of the osu-miami game – we are a good football team with a terrible QB and a QB who is young, not ready, and without a coaching staff with the balls to just let him play and learn as he goes.

Ehh, on to my inabilities…

10pts – Oreg wins, This is the one no-brainer to me this week, so they will probably eat it.

9pts – ND wins, yes I’m nervous and probably insane picking turnover Jesus as my 9pt win game on the road, but if they don’t turn ball over they are good. Also, they play Pitt, whom Naji’d a growler all over themselves last week.

8pts – Bama wins, shouldn’t Saban be about ready to switch teams again? He has a 4-5 yr rule right?

7pts – LSU wins, I don’t know how crazy Les did it? I don’t mean win, that’s simple he has great def every yr and good running game and serviceable qb’s, I mean how did he hide his nutty side long enough to get to the top? If you haven’t seen LSU, they have a true freshman D-lineman (#56 I believe) who is frickin BigDaddy/Freak combo scary good!!

6pts – Trojans win, I originally had ASU here and then I heard they lost another starter and their best defensive player. It made me pause and say, they are still asu and even with petey in Seattle the Trojans are still loaded with talent so I flipped quick, hope it pays off.

5pts – Bucks win, now I certainly should have my head examined, but I’m trying to use my head and not my paranoid buckeye fan to make this pick. So I back off and think, Colorado is 1-2 and was close to being 0-3 last week. We have a very good (be it young, but good) defense, we can run the ball well and really our BIG/only major problem is QB. I implore the coaches to just let Braxton play, he will make mistakes, but he will make plays!! And he needs to learn on the job, so he is ready when the job gets real on the road that last week of the season. If Bauserman plays more than half the game our chances of losing double, if Bauserman plays the whole game and we win the pac10 should kick Colorado out of the conference.

4pts – Miami (oh) wins, don’t know anything here accept the mighty falcon rarely goes on road to win big games, so I will go with the home team. Is the game on the Ocho?

3pts – Miss wins, I had a nightmare Sunday night that I still can’t shake. Mark the most overrated coach in football finally burns out at uga and gets fired, then when OSU “moves on” next year (legal speak for yeah we knew coach fick wasn’t ready) the coaching search panel will get us a SEC coach and it won’t be Urban. If ever there was a nightmare that will haunt me… seriously I’m almost in tears just thinking about it…

2pts – A&M wins, what a game this will be, can’t believe I’m going with a&m actually because I think ok st is loaded, but on the road after a short week (okst game with Tulsa ended like tues because of rain) gives me pause, so I’m going home team. So get your breath mints ladies, the aggies are fix’n fo some makin out!!

1pt – ncst wins, no reasoning here, just a gut feeling with no facts or info.

There it is more words of wisdom or proof of stupidity?

Does anyone know a baseball scout? Maybe we could get Bauserman a playoff spot with the clippers? Probably not, does Nike make platform cleats? You know, give Joe that nice football meets KISS look, I bet with the first ever Gene Simmons platform, silver dust cleats that Joe cold be like 5’11 maybe 6’ tall?

My prediction of the NCAA report, after further review and seeing Joe Bauserman play QB we feel sufficient punishment has been handed down. Actually we think the punishment has been too severe and we reinstating some victories from last year to cheer up buckeye nation. Fuck it, prove me wrong Joe, I hope you make me eat a big steaming pile of crow shit, Go Bucks!!

where's my book dhl?

Waiting impatiently on my PJ20 book. Now the shipping was 2-6 days and it has only been 3, but I got the shipping info email - its only coming from NJ, come on already!! Damn i'm a restless biotch.  Ok, so whilst I wait on the book and this stupid program to finish, let me share one of my favorite PJ song lyrics. Some songs are great all around and some are just great musically or lyrically, this is one that I really love the lyrics. It is as good as a poem as it is as a song. I like to listen to it when that ball is really heavy and the hill is very steep, but you still have to try to push it up to the top. Enjoy....

i will light the match this mornin', so i won't be alone
watch as she lies silent, for soon light will be gone
i will stand arms outstretched, pretend i'm free to roam
i will make my way, through, one more day in hell...
how much difference does it make
how much difference does it make...

i will hold the candle till it burns up my arm
i'll keep takin' punches until their will grows tired
i will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind
hey i won't change direction, and i won't change my mind
how much difference does it make
how much difference does it make..
how much difference...

i'll swallow poison, until i grow immune
i will scream my lungs out till it fills this room
how much difference
how much difference
how much difference does it make
how much difference does it make...

I keep screaming, but I must be in a big room...

Week 3 college pick'em picks

I actually had a pretty good week last week with my picks, still nearish the top of the picks and with in striking distance of first. That will end this week for sure. I wanted to put 4 of these games as my 1pt confidence pick this week. Who knows, maybe I will get lucky and have a good week? Here goes nothing…

10pts – Nebraska wins, at home and against the huskies this should be the one lock of the week. Then again having a big ten team as your lock pick does scare the shyte out of me.

9pts – G. Tech wins, honestly I know shit about these teams this year, but I believe Kan lost tons of their offensive talent and everyone online is picking the yellow jackets to win easy, so I will follow the crowd and probably get burned.

8pts – LSU wins, Miss St choking dog loser lost to Auburn. Crazy Lez will have his team of degenerates ready to kill and win easy me thinks.

7pts – Fla wins, ok here it is I flipped the 8/9, 6/7, and 4/5 games in pt value from my original thoughts based solely on home winner vs. away winner – making all the home winner pick the higher pt value. Having said that, I didn’t look it up, but I’d guess it has been a long time since Tenn won in Gainesville, but I’m almost sold on Tenn and their new young QB. In fact if not for all the other hard to pick games, I would have taken Tenn as my 1pt winner as a gamble, so don’t be surprised if this goes down as a loss. I bet everyone will take Fla, so not a huge loss. (I hope)

6pts – ASU wins, if not for how bad the big ten has looked so far this year, I might have picked the illini here. I should not be holding the suckiness of the big ten against the illini, but I am and it will probably cost me. Man I’m stupid.

5pts – BYU wins, they should have beat Texas and that might not be a huge challenge right now, but still at home they should get it done against ‘the pac12’ Utah team.

4pts – Texas wins, guess herbie was wrong UCLA is still good for nothing other than tight white sweaters and filling up the spank-bank!! Yes I’m still bitter they lost me 4pts in week 1, I hold a grudge, and peeps should know that by now. You suck Nuehisel or however you spell your last name, how bout I call you Rick Loser?! Easier to spell and warns people of what you will do!!

3pts – WV wins, a game that will tell a lot about both teams and actually about Miami (fl). I’m going with the better QB and offense, plus Maryland will return to normal uniforms this week, so WV shouldn’t be distracted or dizzy from those stupid helmets.

2pts – Okla wins, again a game that will tell weather Free Shoes U is back or if the Sooners will live up to the hype and win a big game for first time in a while. I think boomer sooner will, but not confident enough to put it higher.

1pt – Bucks win, how could I have this opinion after last wk? I don’t know, but I think Toledo’s offense is pretty damn good and we gave up 22 pts with 8 of that on a 1yd drive after a blocked kick and 7 of that on 1 big screen play on a missed tackle against best player in the MAC and one of best skill guys in the entire country who was over looked by the big schools because of his height. That’s right his height, which is a common factor most coaches look at (sometimes wrongly), but apparently not the buckeye coaches when it comes to QB’s or specifically ones that throw sidearm, so that every pass comes out the pocket at about 4ft of the ground!! Ok, I’m losing it time to refocus….

I think we will win because I believe defense is really good (especially considering youth) and that Harris will again throw 4int for the U, like last yr. I also hope that the coaches will actually give Braxton a chance this week after watching tape from last week of Joe. If not? I don’t want to think about that!!

So there are the picks…

Let me say you should watch Friday night’s Boise St at Toledo game. I have bashed on Boise St, but they are really good and this will be an interesting game to see how good Toledo really is and I expect a high scoring game – my prediction is Boise St Wins 63 – 48. I also still believe if Boise St had to go through a real SEC, Pac-whatever, Big ten, Big12 – and shrinking conference they would loose at best 1 to 2 games every year. Having said that, the NCAA dropping the hammer on them for lack of institutional control because they had some ehh football violations and then tons of serious violations in track n field and connect 4 or whatever sport is total BS!! What a joke, but how can we get that mad? It is just the newest in the line of head scratching NCAA rulings.

can't save it anymore

So I had this idea for if I ever went 10-0 in college picks that I thought would be pretty funny, but lets face it i'm never going to go 10-0 in college pick'em. So...... i'm using the idea now that I had top score in my fantasy football league on opening week (another unusual feet for me!!). Oh! And I had the third best week in the leagues history according to our commisioner. Thus, i'm stomping my foot, shouting 'sexual chocolate', dropping the mic and walking of stage with my soul glo shining and my beer gut showing!! 1980's (early 90's) Eddie Murphy is God!!  "God Damn that boy can sing!!"

Enjoy

i'm laughing so hard!!!!

seg 6 picks

The Chase begins and for those in - a fresh slate - so come on 88 team, you got in barely - now do something with it, please :-)

As for my picks, well been slipping a bit and though I am in fourth still I am 61 pts behind first and need some big  moves, I figure all top 15's in last 10 races and 2-3 wins will be needed to catch el prez. I can do that - maybe? Here it goes...

Chicagoland - smoke, what a way to open the chase for the man who said if I can't compete they shouldn't even let me waste the spot. Well I say, get your first win of the season and hop back to the top.

Loudon - Gordon, everyone says he is completely back and looking to get his 5th championship. I guess that would at least mean Johnson didn't win again!

Dover - Johnson, they might as well just make the chase 9 races long and give Johnson credit for the win here, think he has 6 wins here, fricking redonkulous.

Kansas - Keslowski, Brad has been mui en fuego and he has a good record at Kansas, so if he is going to keep up the winning ways and compete for the chase - look for it to be here.

Charlotte - ok, my stretch pick, sort of. I've picked on kid joey at not quite ready, but his Charlotte numbers are pretty damn impressive and I'm sure no one else will pick him, so could be a big move for me. (or a horrible flame out pick)

You will notice that I didn't pick jr, well I'm hoping he can keep himself in it in this first segment and then make some noise at dega and tejas. Lets face it, we will take it anywhere and yeah he almost won Charlotte earlier this year, I don't hold much hope for a win in first half of the chase unless he gets some fuel mileage magic at chicagoland this weekend, which is would be awesome!! We shall see, at least he is in there and has a chance for a change, now come on Letard, time to break out all the stops. Go 88!!!

College Football week 2 picks

So last week was a cluster fuck huh? Hope everyone is impressed that I was in mid season form with my shyte picks, only more to come!! I was cautiously optimistic with what I saw from the buckeyes, I will never be sold on a two qb system. In my opinion, Miller must eventually win the job for this buckeye team to be great. Buaserman is serviceable, but lets face it he was at the top of his abilities after 5 years in the program and was basically slightly better to the same as Braxton and Braxton maybe was playing at 50% of what he will be capable of? I ask one question, if everything was exactly the same (age/experience/height or lack of/arm strength/quickness etc etc etc) but Joe was black and Braxton was white – what would public opinion be? I have a guess, but I’ll let you form your own opinion.

Before I start in on my week 2 picks, let me just say I’m still on vacation from labor day weekend and its 10am, I’m having a Yuengling and pretzels for breakfast – listening to Howard and life is pretty good. Back to work tomorrow L

Ok, week 2’s mediocrity…

10pts – Michigan wins, ok I will be honest – I’m trying to jinx team up north into a loss. It won’t happen because I think they are on right track to being competitive again. Side note for you to watch for in this game, but Mich should be hiring that former fat Maryland coach for their staff, he would fit in well – seriously they have a girthy coaching staff. Maybe they figure the team will be in better shape if they eat all the food at the training table?

9pts – Bama wins, really b10 network showing all the classic Joe Pa vs. Bama games from the 70's/80’s is nice, but should you not show last years game? Penn st will probably score 3 pts again this year against bama’s def. Who knows, maybe this is the down turn for the SEC and the b10 can get over, but I don’t think so.

8pts – Ok st wins, great defense vs great offense, I’ll go with the home team here.

7pts – Iowa wins, this is usually a crazy rivalry game where anyone could win, but I agree with Herbie when it comes to Iowa – if they are picked to be great they will choke, but when no one expects them to do anything… that is when they find some players to come out of nowhere and play amazing and have a 10-2 or 11-1 season.

6pts – ASU wins, this is game most likely to bite me in the ass because mizzu has that spread offense, but asu is at home and they have a defensive lineman that might actually kill someone!! Seriously, check him out, he is a beast!!

5pts – Trojans win, hey Utah welcome to the pac12 party, enjoy your beat down, well maybe? Still trying to figure out how the Trojans barely won last week against Goldie?

4pts – NC wins, it pains me to pick against the state U of new jersey, but think there is talent at NC and even though butchy is gone, his talent is still there and they can play some defense.

3pts – S car wins, well if it wasn’t for last weeks ehh performance I’d pick this way higher, but the ole ball coach has some issues on that team with getting them to play to their abilities. Hopefully they will crush the paper tiger that mighty Boise st beat last week and start to nail shut that coffin on the most overrated coach in college football, bye bye markie.

2pts – miss st wins, if miss st is ever going to get over at Auburn here is the year. They should have lost last week, I wonder what the worst record in the following season for a defending national champ is? Might be broke by Auburn this year!

1pt – BYU wins, man has tejas fallen on mediocre times or what? I’m not positive, but figure for a point I’d take a flyer on this upset.

Well there is week 2 picks, if I keep up my Stella picks at the rate I picked in week 1… well…. I’ll be mathematically eliminated by week 5, so maybe I can get it together and have a good week, doubtful, but maybe.
