not to proud to beg...

Ok, this is a fyi for some of my music friends who might read this, but also sadly a shameful "hey if you wanna buy me a cool gift" fyi for those that might take pitty on me or find me deserving of gift. Anyway, not that I don't have enough music to listen to, but this sounds frick sweet, so check it out.

seg 4 picks

Only 10 races left till the chase and the 88 team (which has been good this yr) needs a strong finish at Daytona this week to make up for the last 2 races that have not been kind. This segment has Kentucky's first running of the big boys, should be interesting. Then to snooze Hampshire and last race of segment is Indy, hopefully we get racing like last year (or better) and not like few years before last years race. We shall see...

Here are my picks, I've closed in a bit on first, but need a very strong segment to close the gap some more!!

Daytona - 88 wins!!  Man I really thought about going with someone like the 33 who has been good and is due to win in Daytona and probably wouldn't get picked by many people, but I have to go with my heart and its Daytona baby!! How can I go against my driver in Daytona?! Bring home some firework magic!!

Kentucky - 18 wins (booo)  Ok, so I looked it up and kid dork (Logano) has won the last 3 nationwide races at Kentucky and seems as close to a lock as you could have for the first Cup race at a track, but honestly Kyle has won there too and Joey ain't exactly lighting up the sport the way some thought he would at the top level.  He might win, but we know King douche bag can and will do anything to win. Guess I'm hedging my bet, cause if he wins it helps me and if he wrecks on lap 1 and finishes 43 - well damn that would make my weekend!! If I'm not being clear about how I feel about the 18 allow me to clarify, the 18 makes me want to root for a 48/24/27 - 1/2/3 finish!! I hate that dude!!

Loudon - 48 wins  There are literally only like 5 people worth picking as a winner pick at this track, so this is my f-it I'll pick Johnson here pick. Hate the guy as most do, but he wins and you gotta get the points.............................................................................................................................................sorry, i actually fell asleep just thinking about New Hampshire racing, lets just say that's a good day to do some yard work in the morning or go golfing or something to make the couch real cozy for a nice summer afternoon nap during the race.

Indy - 99 wins   Our points leader is looking for his first back flip at the brickyard and I think this is the year he gets it done, hope for my sake I'm correct. Going to talk about Edwards and the Roush ford boys for a second. There are a lot - LOT - of people in the A.B.J. (anyone but Johnson) camp for whom they want to win the season champ and the 99 (and at times the 17/16) look like the ford boys may have what it takes to make the reign of lame end. I will throw a caution (and anyone that has ever owned a ford will understand) that the 99 or anyone can lead 35 weeks of the season, but come the end of November we need someone not to 'hamlin' the last couple weeks away and let homo comeback and make it 6 in a row. Now in my delusional state I can see the cup staying at Hendricks with team 88, but I've had dreams where I am 180lbs, have a 15in dong and have to choose which of my Ferrari's to drive each morning, so clearly I am able to fantasize the impossible. In the real world, we probably need the driver of the 'food poisoning ford fusion' or deputy dog Biffle or tarded Tom Cruize (although like my office-FedEx doesn't deliver) or God forbid the 18 to break the streak. Really for me that would be like _____________________ (fill in you own awful analogy of something worse replacing something already awful) shiver at the thought. Who knows maybe the Bud car will get it done or maybe a nice story of a bowyer or newman surge in the chase would make for a nice story. Not holding my breath.

So finally after all that rambling, remember this - if the 88 does make a lot of dreams come true for us 'still hanging in' fans, 2012 is a year away!!

Ooooo Ferrari, showing the hardtop convertible California edition from 2008!!

My brothers first race

Did not have a chance to get to this during the week, but last sunday I took my bro Jon to his first Nascar race at Michigan International Speedway. It was my first trip to that track and I was pleasantly surprised and had a great time. Really, it is hard to have a bad time at a race because you can bring your own beer and the people watching is better than peopleofwalmart.com. The racing (though it doesn't sound like tv coverage was good) was good at mis with good passing and action for most of the race. We left at 6am and got to parking lot at about 9:30 and had a quick breakfast at the car.

After breakfast to the track with good seats of most of the track from turn 1

Here is our driver Jr. taking the wave at the fans lap, followed by a pic of the flyover

here they come to start the race, truly a great feeling, thats what you learn at your first race is not how great the sound or smell is, but the feel of those cars roaring past is awesome!!

and the day didn't go as i'd hoped for the 88, but it start well and here are the best shots I got of the man passing some cars and trying to make things happen.

Well he didn't win, but he is still having a good start to the year and hopefully it keeps getting better.

Oh yeah, the people watching, well my first race I saw a dude with an exact Budweiser logo tattoo accross his shoulders/back. I've seen ladies in wheel chairs with an oxygen mask chain smoking and drinking beer, i've seen a friend so intoxicated he dropped a large pizza on the people after someone gave it to him for free, not to mention some of the best mullets in the history of the world, but this next picture is easily the funniest/sadest/skankiest/walmartiest thing i've seen.... god i love going to the track...
I come from carney people and I just love to see the freakier side of living....

How much does one spend on shorts they intend to "classy up" by cutting hole in bottom to create an ass cheek basket? Notice the nice ever trendy rib tattoo. This might be fun, list what you think might be in her backpack. I'll start, smokes/meth/and probably a WWJD shot glass.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures and if you have never been to a race, get to one you will not regret it - there is literally something for everyone.

comments

for the few of you who try to comment, recently it was giving issue if you tried to comment as 'annoymous' because they have a new spam feature. i am working on fixing this and may have, but know i get email with your comment even if it doesn't show on blog site for others to see, so feel free to comment annoymously until i can get this fixed and know i will get it even if it doesn't look like it is there.

how i like it

I know some find this appauling or just not their cup of tea, but this is my favorite way to hear the national anthem and by my favorite living guitar god. Now Mike's version is a bit understated compared with the greatest ever (Jimmy at Woodstock), but time and place often calls for descresion. Anyway, if you would like... enjoy....

Another stupid bumper sticker

Saw one that said "God doesn't believe in atheists". I get the point they want to make, but it is a stupid point. The message as I understand it is God believes in you no matter what, all you have to do is realize or come to him and he will be there for you. Now there are consequences if you dont or if you dont live the message, but he is waiting and believes you will see the light or that everyone has it in them to do good and change. Good thing that guy isnt God!!

Is the secret recipe stupidity?

not much to say

hmmm, haven't been inspired to post anything for a few days, I am reading a book a friend lent me that is pretty good and makes me want to comment - but I will reserve those thoughts for when I have finished the book. so what else, ah indians sadly are starting to play like - well how most expected them to play. Ohio sport fans in general right now are kind of bent over gasping for air and feeling like they were kicked in the balls, and Lequitter has saddled up his boys to try and finish off quite a few bad months with a swift 'i told ya so bitches' kick in the arse sending Ohio sport fan face first into the dirt. Fortunately I could care less about the NBA (aside from the bulls not winning with snaggle tooth eurotrash), but I feel for my friends that do and want Bron Bron to get a double McGahee next time he drives the lane against the pride of the fatherland- Heir Von Dirk.
in the golf land, it is june, i haven't played once and have no plans to play anytime soon. what really bothers me is i don't miss it as much as usual. Don't get me wrong, I miss it - love it, but with the way I play and the other things i'd rather/need to spend money on, it just isn't bothering me not to play. Priorities I guess? Also on golf, no tiger for us open, sure NBC is thrilled... it probably won't affect ratings?!

I will not comment on Pryor, turn on espn, they have 50 million opinions there...

hmm, what else, eddie's new all ukulele album is out and I haven't heard/bought that yet (again damn priorities) but have been led to believe it is pretty cool, we shall see...

My nephew is super super excited to see "My Movie!!" (aka Cars 2) and Callie and I are super super excited to go with them for his first theater going experience, ok, we like Cars too!! It should be exciting, if anything can get him to sit still for 1.5 hrs it will be the peeps from Pixar.

What else?

Nascar season has been great so far, hopefully it continues and hopefully the 88 team gets over the hump and wins in 2 weeks in Michigan and my brothers first live racing event is a memorable one.

Hope everyone is enjoying these days where it doesn't rain, I knew it would happen eventually!!

Got to go, I have to warn the british that americans are coming and we aren't gonna give up our walmarts, lay-a-way program for size 30 leopard print thongs, or love of religion- well our religion not yours, you are a ignorant heathen who could never be governor of Alaska!! Too bad Dan Quayle didn't have a nice set of cans or maybe he'd still be in the public eye. Holy shit there is a vision of a ticket that adequately represents the educational level of the average american voter - Palin/Quayle 2012!

Sorry in advance to anyone who has a nightmare from that thought.

ok, i'm done, deadliest catch is almost on!!
