My trip to the Brickyard

I was fortunate to go to indy for Nascar's Brickyard 400 race sunday and had the best seats in the house.

I did not waste these great seats, no I did recon on all events pre to post race. In this next picture you can see my favorite driver and other members of the 88 team discussing how might things go bad today?

In the next picture you can see that Jeff Burton's wife apparently believes the reason that 50 men spend hundreds of hours and millions of dollars fine tuning the 31 car for race day is so she has a really cool purse bench! Maybe if you got a smaller bag, Mrs. Poppins, you'd be able to hold it for prerace, if that's not too much to ask?

Next we can see it is true that everyone in Nascar uses hillbilly fix it all tape to fix just about anything. Good work flag guys, but is your job neccessary in modern racing? We have lights for cautions constant radio contact to keep how many laps, etc etc etc.

Finally, it was one of the better indy races (known more for boring racing and tire issues) and not just a reason to get some Hardees as the slackman would say. Sadly the slackmans driver failed to bring the class of the field to victory circle for the second year in a row, but his teammate did give chip gannassi the triple crown (daytona 500, indy 500, and brickyard 400) in the same year, amazing! (also finish 2nd in the coke 600) So our last picture of the trip is a great tradition that Nascar started at indy - kissing the Bricks. Also since my followers are mostly women (i'm working on getting some male followers, not hard enough) the picture has lots of man ass! Enjoy ladies or gay dudes if any want to follow my blog?

The Assassin

If you read my last post on hitting, this is who I was talking about. Yesterday, Jack Tatum passed away. He was known as the Assassin and is one of the most feared men in the history of football. I bet there are hundreds of men walking around that had their souls knocked out by him. He is a hall of famer at every level of football, won a national championship with the bucks and a superbowl with the raiders. Sadly he is often remembered and critized for paralyzing a wide reciever in a 1978 preseason game and he (according to friends) never really got over the guilt. The way he hit, it's amazing more people weren't seriously hurt. He laid the hit that led to the 'immaculate reception' and is in more highlight hit reels than any other defensive back ever. The hit of the week award at OSU has been named after him since coach Tressel became coach and he famously ran down Oj Simpson (LA cops should have hired him) from behind in the Rosebowl. A legend is gone, Wr's and Rb's in football heaven should be scared!

No feeling like it....

Forty days till the first buckeye game of the season, a Thursday night opener and needless to say I can’t wait. I’ve been thinking about what to write, kind of want to talk about heading into Tress’s 10th year and the accomplishments possible with a great season, but as my wife said “your too superstitious to do that”. Then I thought about breaking down other schools and the bucks schedule, but ehh I’m not Espn and ‘my followers’ (lol) deserve more. So I figure I’d right about the best feeling in the world that very few people get to experience.
Football players, and by football players I mean defensive players and offensive lineman and fullbacks the other offensive players might as well be in flag football. Anyway, football players, boxers, rugby players are the most likely to know what I’m talking about, maybe bar brawlers too! It’s hard to describe it in a word or even a made up word, and it’s more than knocking the wind out of someone, it’s more like knocking the sole out of someone. I went reverse bungee jumping once (where they fling you 180 ft in the air) and at the apex for a split second you are weightless (only time in my life I’ll be close to weightless) it’s as if you’re forcing the feeling of being weightless on someone. There is a compression to the perfect hit and a sound that the other player makes. It’s like an air belch where the whole body is screaming “what the F was that?!” I miss that more than anything from high school. I’m glad it’s not easy for others to feel, it is earned. If you watch a lot of football, you might see tackles or hits that you think fit what I’m talking about, but they don’t. I’d say if in every practice, scrimmage, and game I was in maybe I made a couple thousand hits or tackles and only had the experience 3 times. You can make great tackles from behind or the side, lunging, diving or barely by the shoe string. The perfect hit is hard, you have to come square to the chest, slightly from below and pop clean thru the chest concaving the body. Memories, like the corner of my mind (sing along Susan). Anyway, miss that it’s great. Go bucks!

your opinion and help

When I copy from word I loose spacing or odd layout, which I like to use in poetry or to seperate ideas or to express spacing or pauses you'd have in a real conversation or speach. I found this website where you can upload docs and pdf's etc and then embed in blog, but not sure if I like how it looks, the poem is how I actually typed it, but the whole format blocks other parts of blog and looks funny on the screen. Not sure which is worse, missing spacing and format of poem or having a giant white block blob in middle of my blog. What ya'll be thinking?

I was wrong

As I said in my profile, i'm trying to be funny most of the time and i'm not affraid to admit when i'm wrong or when i'm being a hypocrite. Having said this, you might want to disregard what I said about a mosque to be at the ground zero site. Why? Well, the greatest mistake in the history of presidential politics had a similar opinion. If she became a buckeye fan, i'd consider rooting for the team up north! Just incase someone has a question as to whom I'm refering to, allow me to list some of my favorite papers or magazines: The other paper, The Dispatch, Newsweek, Sports Illisutrated and Time.(not that hard is it sarah?) The only political person that should like her is Dan Quayle!!

Jimmie H. Caviezel!!

I’m assuming we’ve all heard or read the Mel Gibson tapes by now and revealed in there entertainment value. They are right up with the Baldwin, Bale, O. Wells, O’Reilly, and my favorite Pat O’brien tapes. (I just wanna go crazy!!) Now we’ve known Mel was off his rocker since he spotted 1 of the 3 Jewish cops in L.A. and there’s not much more to say about his racism or craziness, but 1 thing stood out to me in the tapes. Mel expects too much from a woman, “why don’t you just smile and blow me!” Really Mel, you need a smile too? I’d say most of the guys I know would let you flip them off with one hand and hold a sign that reads “you’re a small dick loser whose ruining my life” in the other if it coincided with oral. Asking for politeness, enjoyment, or anything beyond just getting it done is greedy and arrogant. Maybe Mel you should have stuck with your wife and 7 kids, clearly you have the worst case of buyers remorse ever. Had to go out and get that new Russian sports car without taking a test drive first and now your pissed at the service repair costs. You’re more of an idiot than people thought and that’s hard when most people thought you were a complete idiot. And one other question, how’d you go thru all your money, Passion should have taken care of 3 life times of cash not to mention the Lethal Weapon and Bravehart money and the What Women Want movie. Hahahaahaaha, does anyone else want a sequel to that movie or what?!! Well, hope everyone is having a middle finger and sign day and not a fell asleep before going to the Jacuzzi day!!

Cynergy baby!!

I've now added my wife's blog to Das Links section of my blog. We are trying to take over the blogesphere with all 12 of our followers!! Anyway, check it out it will be more useful than my blog, but i'd like to think not as funny! She does have 7 of our 12 followers and 1 of them isn't family or friend! Of course I haven't really emailed or told any of my friends about my blog, maybe i'm not good at promotions?! Anyway, check out Das Links, I will keep adding stuff I like or use on the al goreternet.

So they want to put a mosque at ground zero?

Now to show I’m an equal opportunity basher of organized religion here is a summary of what I learned about Islam in my college humanities class. Basically Mecca was a melting pot of every religion and belief in the world at the time as well as a financial trading center, like a 6th century NYC of the Mideast (ironic). The Koran to believers (just like the bible to Jews and Christians) is the word of God, but I say the prophets and aspects of all the religions, idols, and beliefs of the day wrapped into a neat package and new religion is very convenient. Here is an excerpt from a website and links to that website and another about Mecca at the time of Mohammed.

In pre-Islamic Arabia gods or goddesses were viewed as protectors of individual tribes and their spirits were associated with sacred trees, stones, springs and wells. There was an important shrine in Mecca (now called the Kaaba) that housed statues of 360 idols of tribal patron deities and was the site of an annual pilgrimage. Aside from these tribal gods, Arabs shared a common belief in a supreme deity Allah (literally "the god") who was however remote from their everyday concerns and thus not the object of cult or ritual. Three goddesses were associated with Allah as his daughters: al-Lat, Manat and al-Uzza. Some monotheistic communities also existed in Arabia, including Christians and Jews. [20] [21] According to the tradition, Muhammad himself was a descendant of Ishmael, son of Abraham. [22

The hardest part of disliking organized religion is most of the people I know that are religious are wonderful people who exemplify the best parts of religion, but from the beginning of time to 9-11 the examples hatred and violence that can spawn from religious fervor can be seen over and over and over. This makes me question putting a mosque at ground zero, maybe (probably) the majority of the people who would worship at this mosque are good people who want to practice our freedom of religion and live in peace. But there are other places for a mosque and maybe ground zero should remain religion free and a reminder to all of the dangers of religious zealotry, be it Christian, Jewish, or Muslim. Maybe a big John Lennon statue with an Imagine CD in his hand? I think I’m morphing into an old hippie, ehh as long as I look better than David Crosby!

probably where I might offend some people, oh well

I wish Christians practice more of the personal accountability part of the bible and less of the let me tell you how your lifestyle is wrong and you’ll burn in hell for it part of the bible. Frankly, I don’t believe there is the latter in the bible, in fact I believe the bible actually says - - big side note,
says means was passed mouth to mouth
like the telephone game by stories for a couple hundo
years before being written down by the first genius
to figure out the power, money, and control to be gained
from a new organized religion, especially one where all
our a-hole moments can be erased just by asking. If my
daughter or wife or mom or etc was raped and god gave
the criminal (after I killed him) eternal forgiveness
because he repented, well get me a jersey for the other team
when the final battle comes…

- - here are some good common sense rules to live by (for those of you that can’t figure it out). If you don’t live by these, GOD will judge you. Not if you see your neighbor kissing a dude tell him he’s going to hell. I wish the bible had a commandment about having 12 kids by 5 men in a two bedroom trailer or section 8 housing being a sin. Or if there was a Facebook is a sin section, I’d be Stephen Baldwin and Rod Parsley’s 700 club member of the year!! I like when I hear people standing around the ‘water cooler’ talking about the crazy Muslims and the restrictive backward beliefs, pot v kettle? Finally, I love the freedom of religion we have in America, I just fear some people think its freedom of Christianity. Finally, I don’t murder, rape, armored robbery, kidnap, child porn or any other major crime, because it’s WRONG and I have good parents, not because it’s a sin. Glad I went to work today, can’t wait till the prayer visual right after facebook time which runs from like 7:30 – 4 with 15 minute breaks for work ever other hour!!

Go tell is on Espn?

Lebron James should be assassinated. – disclaimer – DO NOT HARM IN ANY WAY LEBRON JAMES OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER……… Now, why would I say that then? Well, it’s what he wants, really, he wants to be the savior and for people to ‘witness’. His Christ complex is off the charts, Paris Hilton called him to say he should tone it down. Now before you say I’m a bitter cavs fan you should know, I could care less about the NBA. That league died for me when Jordan retired/went to the Wizards. When I was real young I liked the Celtics and watched with my Dad and then the bulls in the 90’s, but in recent years I’ve watched 3 playoff games and that’s it – it’s boring! Give me college ball and football. The Lebron thing is only interesting the way the circus or a freak show is interesting. Let’s also realize that Cleveland is a Browns town, if the tribe or cavs are good people will go, but if they suck who cares. All this anger and hurt over Lebron is because the browns have sucked since they returned and have little hope of changing that soon. Now if the real savior, Holmgren, can turn things around then (and only then) will Cleveland really start to heal, and people will forget and move on. One warning to Kind James, good luck keeping your mom off the young studs in south beach! I mean if she’s really into the Delante West’s of the world than south beach is going to look like Schmitt’s schnitzel buffet!! So in closing, remember the buckeyes play in 55 days and that’s what matters in the sports world, not the NBA or the Yankee’s baseball league or soccer or whatever. Go Bucks!!

Hhhmmmmmmmmm

I’m distracted, can’t get motivated or inspired or pissed enough to write about anything great, so I’ll just synopsize my weekend. Had a very good weekend – almost perfect (if not for a little water leak). Went to Goodale Park for fireworks and had most laid back easy time I’ve had down at Boom. Being able to take dog was nice and the weather was best ever possibly. Wife’s best friend was able to come up and surprise her, making me a pretty good guy for a few days. Saturday took wife, sister in-law, both their best friends, and my God-sister to shop and get Sumburger, then fireworks (just storing up brownie points for football season, plus Callie is great and needed a good girls weekend before a long week ahead). Took dog with us there too and think my wife wants a dog not quite so cute, to many girls stopping to say hi and how cute the puppy is etc etc… I guess I could let dog of the leash and watch him jump on people and they’d back off realizing how annoying he can also be? Old Navy outlet didn’t have my shorts either, guess I’ll have to order online where the girthy Americans are allowed to buy Old Navy gear thus allowing the pretty people to shop unencumbered. Went golfing with my dad Sunday, that was fun till I broke my putter, but I’ve never been able to control my anger on a golf course… maybe one day when I grow up (people keep saying its going to happen, I’m not sure). Then went to cookout at casa de Vandia and over ate (but its sooo good) and played some poker. Spent all of Monday doing laundry and watching movies, for those of you wondering what Fred Durst has been up to – why? I’ll let you know anyway, apparently he gave up touring and getting down with trailer trash to start a career as a producer and director of crappy movies you’ve never heard of, but might happen to see if you have netflix and your wife adds the movie to instant queue because one of the actors was in twilight or Harry potter or something?(Oh, and your wife sleeps through movie too) Fred, just because you turn your hat around backwards doesn’t mean you can stare through the camera and be Kubrick. God I hope you don’t make anymore movies, I almost broke my bluray player. So that was my crazy 4th weekend, hope yours was good or at least bad in a way you could tell someone a good story, like a crazy person yelling Steven out your window as you drive!
