wk 14 the final wk picks boooo

So the last week is upon us, I’m still done (been done since about wk 3) but all is well cause the bucks had another great season (any season that has a W by the last game is a great season) even if a National title is not in the picture. As for the other games last week, well move over Zoltan, I have a new favorite kicker – the Boise kid! Thank you for missing those Extra points, um I mean field goals! Now we will either have an Oregon and Auburn game or a complete F-ing mess with possibilities of Tcu/Wisc or Stan/Oreg Nat Champ or who knows? Probably will go normal this weekend and the BCS will be saved major embarrassment again. Glad we don’t have a playoff, ehh who would watch a first round match up between the buckeyes and say Oklahoma? Or a Boise St v Stanford game? Stupid playoff, what a horrible idea, I mean these kids need their school time to focus on academics, that’s whey TCU is moving to the big east! Nothing says short travel for sports like a Dallas school in the big east! On to my final picks of the season, man this goes so much faster than NASCAR.

10 – Trojans win, sadly earlier there was a glimmer of hope for the bruins to get over finally, but sadly (like herpes) it was just a momentary clean day before another break out of bad! Still, Trojan v bruin is all about the cameramen getting the W!

9 – Va tech wins, F-ing lost to a 1-aa school and then saved your season and go on to win the conference?! That’s one way to go and better than the other way. For the other way, see team up north record since No teeth St jobbed them on their own field. Not the way you want to go!

8 – Fr st wins, Hey Illinois - scheduling a non conference game for after the regular season – ehh ok – but do it last week when no one will pay attention. Now you are only big ten team playing this weekend and you are going to get “Pauly Shore’d” like a new blond fresh off the greyhound bus from ‘I guess I’ll try anal for you, Nebraska’. Well after that usually comes a new ‘career’ and a Heroin addiction, enjoy!

7 – Zona wins, The Pac 10 should quit rivalry week and just have a cheer off, that would be must see TV. Do they print the diplomas at these schools on Thongs and D cups?

6 – Wash wins; there is still always some A-hole with a giant wazzu flag at college game day no matter where they go! You had 2 ok seasons like 7 years ago and the rest of the time are dog bleep. Go away!

5 – S. Car wins, don’t ever ever ever give the ole ball coach 2 shots to beat you! Gary should get his wish and see - “what would be the worst team since BYU beat a 6-5 Michigan to win a national championship”- loose and not annoy him more.

4 – Oreg wins, thought I might pick the beavers at home with the upset till I saw them get scalped by Stanford. Come on people are you with me? That’s a scalped beaver reference from a game where they played the big long wood tree team? I’m giving you this humor for free! Ehh, I guess I’ll be appreciated when I’m dead like a 12th century composer.
3 – Okla wins; boomer sooner looked good against the cowboys and seeing as how Nebraska doesn’t know if they will play a QB or 2 Rb’s and one of them can throw. Also, the ref’s are going to be so bought and paid for it won’t be funny. Mark my words; the Big 12 does NOT want Nebraska taking the title on its way out the door.

2 – Uconn wins, Hey TCU you see that, its all the free money and trophies you can win by taking your decent football program to a conference pretending to have good football programs. Oh yeah, but you might score 3 pts a game in basketball. Sacrifices, guess we know where they money is in college athletics. Sorry title 9, equality only comes thru green backs and the law of supply and demand is not subject to Frenchy hats and chants.

1 – Smu wins, “Hey Doc, where the F did you fly this delorian to?” Smu? I thought they got the death penalty, must have been the 30 yr comma penalty? It’s only fitting that Smu comes back the same year the NFL is going to have a thousand yard white Rb (in Cleveland to boot). If any of you high school kids can kick straight on with your toe or like to tackle with clothes line forearms, then I’d get ready for the NFL cause apparently concussions cause fricking time travel. I don’t care if it cost me my life, the last thing I would ever do if I time traveled would be to help my future Dad get busy with my future Mom! Now I’d travel way back and get my great great great great great…… grandpa to give a little wink at some of the royal family members, see if we could redirect our lineage to that gravy train, talk about a Cush gig! Of course then I’d have to get my mom not to date an Arab business men or at least stay out of his limo! Too far? I do that, sorry, Smu brings out my evil side.

Good season and Good luck to Justin and Bill this weekend.

Bakers Dozen plus......

The last thirteen plus months have been quite amazing. First and foremost I got married and had a wonderful wedding and party thanks to my wife and all her hard work. Then on Jan first of 2010 we began the year with a Rose bowl Victory which would kickoff one of the great concert, sporting, and travel years of my life. I was able to enjoy these moments with my wife, my friends, and our families.

In the spring Callie and I traveled down to visit her best friend in Tennessee while her then fiancĂ© (now husband) was in Iraq. The three of us went to Talladega for my first dega race and it lived up to the hype! Also, I was able to check of Georgia and Alabama on my states I’ve driven in map (go ahead and laugh I’d like to drive in all 50). Also, we drove thru some of the most amazing fog in southeast Tennessee in the early morning in Appalachia land. It’s always a great time in Tennessee with our friends and happy to say next time we get down there, we will all be together as chuey returned safely from serving in Iraq, which is probably the best news we all shared this year.

I was also able to go see the best band and live performers in the world this spring, Pearl Jam for those unaware. It was the third time I’ve seen them and as good as always! If you have a chance you should check them out.

Later in the summer I was fortunate to go to the Brickyard 400 at Indy and see one of the better races they’ve had there in a while.

This fall took Callie to see Jason Mraz, one of our favorite musicians. He is a great singer-songwriter; I’d say our generations Van Morrison – one cool cat! Also worth every penny if he’s in your area check him out.

Went to a Browns v Bengals game in Cleveland with my bro-in-law and his friend from NY and witnessed (yes I’m not making the next part up) the Browns win!! Over the bungals! It was truly a great day and there are great stories (too many to share) from this trip and maybe, hopefully a budding tradition for years to come. (Also, bill was able to go to the spring Bristol race and got some great memories and pics from that trip)

Finally, around are first anniversary Callie and I went on a honeymoon to Las Vegas. This trip was a double dip because it is where our Tennessee fam was celebrating their newlywed status and a family birthday. A large, fun, gambling crowd ‘tearing up’ Vegas! Well at least having lots of fun in a safe mature way. Callie and I did sneak away and went to Red rock National Park, Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead. Some great pictures there and in Vegas; a very special vacation with great memories and people.

And then there was football season…..

I was unbelievabley fortunate to see 3 buckeye football games live and in person! First, my California buckeye representative was able to travel back to see the bucks go 70 plus in the shoe (the 3rd time I’ve seen that happen). Hopefully it won’t be as long till we can get a chance to get Steve back to buckeye land for another live game. Second, Bill came thru with sweeeeeeet tickets for the Indiana game (so Callie and I got to come along) and the buckeyes laid another beat down! Third (“and most especially” as tress would say) I was able to go to “the” game with my longtime best friend Justin. He took me as a birthday/xmas gift that I will have to figure out some way of repaying. It was a great way to cap an unreal 10 yrs of winning. 9-1 against team up north, others can say it has lost this or that blah blah blah, bullshit. Its awesome, won’t last forever and I’ve been on the other side, so shut the F up, enjoy it and hold the memories because (hopefully not soon) it will turn and the rivalry always will be and is the best in sports. Period!

So that is a short (or short as I could make it) rambling ADD look at on of the most fortunate sporting, traveling, doing years of my life. Maybe my perspective or appreciation is just better for the things I’m fortunate to do? If so, it is because of my wife and family and age finally giving me some wisdom (even if it is a case of a little going a long way). Better late than never, right?

Truth be told, I’d give all the sports (yes even the buckeyes), concerts, travel up for no Cancer, divorce, job loss, illness, stress, regret, missed opportunities, infertility, and any other of the daily tribulations I/we all go thru. Of course that’s why we give thanks on thanksgiving and enjoy our hobbies and distractions so much, because we can’t get rid of the bad. We can battle it, we can over come it, we can make the best of it and we can survive it. So I choose to remember these positive things today, be thankful for them and for all the people in my life that makes them possible and enjoy them with me. If I didn’t have the people I do in my life to share these with they wouldn’t make great memories. I hope everyone can take a second to stop and reflect on the good in their year, use it to keep you positive and get thru the bad.

Funny thing is I usually consider myself a pessimist or glass half empty guy, maybe I’m growing? Hope so because I’m blessed. Not sure if I always deserve it, but I know I try and I learn and that works for me. Shit I make it to 70 and I’m gonna be one sappy old man. My dad is doing a lot of public speaking (well might I add) and I prayed before 2 meals this weekend, anything is possible. Go Bucks!!

wk 13 picks

So, its rivalry week, lots of great games to pick and a stupid wac match up! Anyway, the buckeyes survived a road trip where TP still had TP moments and the WR had the dropsy’s! Hard to believe, better come out this week and play well. T.U.N may have worst defense in their history, but also might have best offense they’ve ever had. Robinson should be getting more hype for Heisman; it is more impressive that he’s put up numbers he has (1500 plus rushing and passing) on a team with no defense. Opponents normally facing such a bad defense can be safer, trying not to give up the big play and knowing they just need to slow offense down – not completely stop it. Robinson has had big play after big play anyway and he’s missed parts of a lot of games. So breaking the QB rushing record with a game to play and being the first QB ever with 1500/1500 (not even Timmy Christ did it) is sick impressive. My hope and feeling is like much of T.U.N. losses, the buckeyes will score often and get enough stops to win comfortably. Scary thing is the one thing you don’t want to see in a big underdog (especially in a rivalry game) is a great offense, because it gives a ‘punchers’ chance. The bucks will need to play turnover free and win on special teams (another place where fighting richrods are inexplicably bad). One last bit of paranoia to get off my chest, I will be in the shoe for my third live viewing of the best rivalry in sports. I am 1-1 with my first game being ‘the slip’ in the shoe – a devastating loss. The second time was at the big house for Troy’s second win of his 3 victories as a starter and the sounding board for the following years Heisman run. I’m hoping that the curse was truly with coop and I will be 2-0 seeing it live under Tress and not 0-2 seeing it at the shoe. Wish me luck! Go Bucks!

On to this weeks picks, or as I like to call them “opposite Jared picks”!

10 pts – A&M wins, hey all you Tressel ball haters: Can it be frustrating at times? Yes Should you ever ever bitch? No Why? See down years of team up north, fsu, usc, okla, nebr, Miami, and now Tejas. I mean they are in serious danger of no bowl game, which proves down falls can happen to anyone (even if you’re in a week conference like the big 12 or big new 12). Appreciate tressel ball, it’s been really really good to you.

9 pts – bama wins, well Saban will do it again and give us the Oregon v Boise St championship game that will polarize college football into those that love it and those that hate it. Unless (and hopefully) Cam can clinch the Heisman with a great performance.

8 pts – Boise wins, please please please Nevada pulls the upset, and you won’t, but please prove me wrong.

7 pts – PSU wins, I’m picking this cause sparty is sparty and this is what bucky badger needs to guarantee a rose bowl bid when they demolish n’western sat, so it will happen. Kind of hoping the one good thing that would come from a Boise st nat champ game vs Oregon would be a Stanford v Wisconsin Rosebowl, so badger fans can find out; a) how bad Scott Tolzien really is against a good defense (that doesn’t lay an egg like the bucks did) and b) what it will be like for them if richrod gets canned and Harbum takes over.

6 pts – Ok st wins, finally their year and they got boomer sooner at home, don’t get it done now and it will never ever happen. Better buck up cowboys.

5 pts – Oregon wins, I know zona has a good stoops defense, but ducks are at home and should score/win big. Only concern is are they looking past zona and thinking about beavers. Nothing good ever comes of thinking about tomorrows beaver when you need to tame today’s wild cat!! Does the pac10 have the best nicknames or what? You can have some cougar, beaver, wildcats, all while smoking a little tree and never have to worry about disease because you just wear a Trojan and enjoy your dance with the sun devil! Even for a man that’s a little husky, or (next yr) built like a buffalo, you just bruin up, ride that bear and make her quack like a duck!

4 pts – Ark wins, less miles will never run out of trick plays, odd moments, and dumb luck, but if you have a good QB and he plays well you can beat LSU with solid play. Don’t and he will pull some craziness out his arse and have you saying “how the hell did we loose that game?”

3 pts – Mustache wins, looks like he has the best of the worst, bet the Fiesta bowl is stoked about the possible Okst/neb vs pitt match up?! Ooooo sounds fun.

2 pts – Buckeyes win, everything says bucks should win number 7 in a row and 9 or 10 easy, except for one thing…… It’s still the best rivalry in sports and anything truly can happen. I literally can not emphasize how bad I want this one to cap off a great decade that I desperately needed after the 90’s! If things go south, I’ll be devastated, mad, irate, spewing irrational, mean, despicable things that I don’t really mean (well at least not all of them) and then I’ll probably cry, get depressed and then head home to what really matters (my family) and spend time with my wife and our family and friends and get some perspective that keeps me from taking that last step of the cliff. Or I’ll get arrested at the game and hope they come bail me out! Let’s hope we just have the safe thing and get the W! Go Bucks!

1 pts – FSU wins, well I think finally maybe the original bad boys of the sunshine state can regain some glory in this rivalry and get a W, but the gators have the jail talent lately and are quite capable of saying we have the biggest check book right now and our money and criminals will kick your butt. Urban is still one tough warden and his inmates want their extra slice of bread next week and 2 hrs of outside time a day.

Good luck to Justin and Bill trying to make a comeback on Jared, may he falter and you get 55 (assuming you picked the bucks, if not may you get 9 out of 10 right)!

An open letter to ESPN

Over the years the ‘worldwide leader’ has done many wonderful things for sports entertainment and television. They have always been on the forefront of what’s next and what can improve the fan experience. The internet has been and will continue to be the future of television. ESPN, keeping with their traditions, is surging forward with Espn3.com (formerly espn360.com) and access to games from TV, PC, phone, Ipad etc etc etc… GREAT!! So what could be wrong with this, for starters forcing it on cable and satellite providers and fans before technology is ready. Also, doing it at the expense of quality, quality you ask? Yes quality, like quality producers, editors, writers, and directors. In the last two weeks, I personally have been affected by this lack of quality control and/or common sense broadcasting from ESPN.

Incident 1: The World Series of Poker November 9

The boom of poker can be attributed to the likes of guys like fossil man or the original moneymaker, and yes even the worldwide leader. The coverage of all things WSOP and hype machine that is ESPN has brought poker way into the mainstream. They typically do a great job of condensing thousands of hands into the best action or best story lines and then add new excitement like last year adding the thrill of a final suspenseful night. “The November 9”, pause the action in the spring when it gets down to the final table of the main event and then bring them back in November for a live online final or a tape delayed and edited final 2 hours of great poker! How can you screw that up? Maybe by not understanding DVR (tivo for those of you still going old school)! That’s right ESPN, people have lives, jobs, families and DVR is the true technology break through that has changed how people think about and use television. People are responsible for understanding how DVR has limitations for live sports or even shows that follow live sports (i.e. Sunday night programming during football season), but for a taped event touted as 2hr primetime must see tv from 10 to Midnight (that did start on time at 10) should be easily able to run in the allotted time. Not cutting off as the river card (last card for non poker people) of the final hand for the WSOP main event bracelet! Now as bad as this was, I knew who won and didn’t need to see him celebrate, but come on – it’s just pathetic for a multi billion dollar company to have Snafu’s of this nature.

Incident 2: #4 Ohio State at #9 Florida basketball

So the beginning of the game was not available because the game before ran over, but that is not ESPN’s fault and the start of the game was available on the non HD channel in Ohio and Florida and supposedly on espn3.com. Well first, let that information be known before tip off not right at tip off; secondly, espn3.com was a definite no go for connection to watch the game. You could watch the end of the other game on espn3.com, that worked, but it was on ESPNHD, so why would you need to? Anyway, that was just the beginning; the real problem was the end of the game. After the past two national spotlight games in which the gators have ‘gotten over’ on the bucks it was nice to see our returning players and young freshman go down to Gainesville and put a whooping on the gators. It would have been even better to see the last minute and maybe an interview with winning coach Thad Matta, but NOOOO. We got switched to GIRLS basketball! That’s right, you heard me, the half empty stadium of #1 Uconn vs. #2 Baylor WOMENS basketball (and this ‘game’ was already airing espn2)! Call me any name you want for my non evolved, title 9 hating Neanderthal self, but that is ridiculous! You have lost it ESPN, I’d rather you just go back to ESPN plus where the local affiliates can pay to pick up the buckeye games. You suck! You are no longer ‘cooler than the other side of the pillow’ you now are misguided and out of focus like the other ‘lazier’ eye! You need to go back back back to quality production, directing, and editing. Entirely stupid pointless network, you should change your name to MMSN, Money Money Sports Network.

Week 12 picks

So week 12 is here and it’s about a four man race for the championship this year, surprise I’m not one of those four! Jeckel and Hyde bucks again Saturday, our best player is also our worst player which is scary. Hope we get good T.P. for last two games, not teams we want to fall behind and play catch up against. Maybe we can see boom get 400 plus yds in the last 2 games, that’d be awesome! Browns still have a way to go and need more talent, but again showed they are heading in the right direction. First thing they need is better (non Clemson, thanks for the fumble stuckey!) WR’s and then some depth on defense and maybe a qb or maybe we have on, hard to tell. Big Big early game for Thad and the fella’s in Gator land, I think they are special, will no after tonight, or at least have a better idea if they can be. On to the picks…

10 – Wisc, They are going to win out and I think we will win out, but sparty will chode in happy valley and the badgers will head to rosebowl and bucks will go to sugar bowl. Hope richrods can win and give bucks shot at outright bigten title, but not sure defense has any chance at shutting down bucky badgers so will have to out score them. If richrod’s do, up the anxiety a notch for ‘the game’, yay!

9 – Ncstate wins, I still miss Joe Pesci as the head coach of the wolfpack, that was always a good interview.

8 – Vatech wins, helping boise a little more, please Oregon and Auburn win out, please!

7 – Okla wins, F Baylor stance still in effect

6 – ark wins, Hey there qb is best and worst player on their team too, think he will show up big?

5 – Trojans win, sad to say, but they are still good and will win.

4 – A&M wins, aggies turning it on late in the year and looking good.

3 – FSU wins, ehh I’m probably stupid on this pick, but just have a feeling.

2 – Bucks win, I think we will show up and play well, hopefully. Will need a whole game, not just a half. Go Bucks!

1 – N’west wins, Just when ya think zooker has it going he gags at mich and minn in back to back games! Wow, and losing to n’west without there best player will get him fired. If n’west had Persa they’d win by 40!

So there you have it, maybe I’ll have a good week before end just for my pride, even if it’s not for the crown.

Friar F-ing Tebow is number 1?

In a big giant horseshit ball of things that annoy me about the NFL, Religion (or more acurately some religious people), and the bearded savior him self - Tim Tebow's bronco jersey is number 1 best selling jersey in the NFL. Way to go racist, christian right America! You've proven your love for the back up QB of the 2 and 6 bronco's! Because he fits some poster boy, bad 80's movie, 'you're damn right Jesus rules' t-shirt idea of what a QB is supposed to be, do, say? What happen to the America where hard work and talent rose to the top? I guess affirmative action and the backlash to it helped, also a scary theocaritic political movement of late, and maybe a secret left handers movement? If Tom Brady were black a large portion of this country would talk about how he was just along for the ride and not really that good (or if they did say something nice it be about how "well spoken" he is... code for he doesn't sound like the rest of them). It's not that I wanna see Tebow get busted with a bag of meth and a half dead hooker because I hate him, it is just the I have this idea (wrong as I probably am) that some highly respected member of 'that' society will get busted and wake up the masses to the rampent hypocracy around and they will stop annointing the next great moral leader. I know, i'm a dreamer, blame John Lennon. I shouldn't be surprised that people who don't believe in evolution can't understand that we are (% of time wise) very very close to a time when a man/caveman/earlyman just clubbed the woman he wanted and took her back to his cave (and forget about 'her needs'). Hell out side of the US and western europe and parts of Australia we are way closer than peeps want to know. Wow, all that from a tebow jersey sales update, what is wrong with me (or others if you agree with me).

Week 11 picks

So week 11, not going to win, but still having a blast picking the games and poking fun at the powers that be and other stuff. Now some are upset with the picks or more accurately the lack of some picks for this week’s game, noticeably the auburn v uga game and the Oregon v Cal game. In fact for posterity one person (Gary) said he guarantee’s Auburn will lose to Uga and is “a joke” that the Buckeyes would beat by 21! Now I think Auburn’s def is bad, but they are special on offense and I think they will beat uga, I’m more concerned that upset Cal will show up at home strong and knock of the ducks. I hope neither happens and I’m pulling for a duck vs. war eagle Nat champ game (assuming bucks don’t get a ton of help and fall into it, which won’t happen). As for how the buckeyes would fair, I’m still convinced we can play with anyone in the country, but sadly don’t have the ‘special’ leadership needed from our no 2 to do it week in and week out. Anyway, still pulling for a great season for the bucks if they can take care of business and win out – time for some picks.

10 – Nev wins, an example of a game that could be dropped for the afore mentioned games, but hey there is a west coast aspect in the picks that us east coasters must deal with and I have no problem with that.

9 – Okla wins, clearly not as good as hyped in the preseason, but still good and at home verse no defense tech.

8 – Bama wins, might be upset alert if not for the beast being angered by already being beat twice this year, hard to imagine saban dropping 3 games before their rivalry game.

7 – Va tech wins, picking this because I want them to loose and hurt Boise St, which probably won’t happen. Come on you cheaters in Tar Heel land, man up and defend your home stadium with some pride!

6 – Ga tech wins, another game in the crap shoot ACC that I want to go opposite of my pick, we need some help in the strength of schedule and the canes are not helping, thanks.

5 – UCF wins, another game could have been moved for a bigger match up, I honestly know nothing about this game other than I think George O’liar is coach at ucf? Ehh, go fighting Culpeppers!

4 – A&M wins, F Baylor and all their we are finally here bs, I’ve been burned picking you for the last time this year. Go aggies!

3 – Zona wins, who doesn’t wanna see the Trojans loose as much as possible?

2 – Nwest wins, still reeling from how they’ve blown lead after lead this year, maybe they get over finally this week. Also, another game that can hurt buckeyes by lowering the strength of schedule of our upcoming opponents.

1 – Cuse wins, ok I’ve always had a soft spot for both these teams (my aunt went to the state univ of NJ and I loved when McNabb and Harrison played for a good cuse) but seriously this is the game that should have been dumped. Really is anyone going to watch this? I know cuse is better and Rutgers is ok (not as good as a few years ago when coach should have jumped ship for a better/more traditional program) but wow, hard to imagine the people still at the top of picks could swing on this match up! Wow!

So for this week Go Bucks beat Penn st and NC A&T (bball is back baby and we got some talent baby!!) Go browns, 3 in a row verse top talent? And we got over on the broncos in a trade? What next? Cubs World Series? A black Serial Killer? A functional Government program? Open minded hillbillies? Stop the madness!! Also, Go happy Harvick in Phoenix, trying to keep it in the family for a third straight year! Oh wait one more, the 88 team in victory lane? No that’s taking things to far…..

is there a devil?

Last night not much on tv, so I watched The Devil's Advocate (one of Pacino's most underappreciated movies), one of my favorite movies. I realized that I love a lot of movies about the devil and the battle between good and evil. The curious thing is i'm, well I don't know what the word is, but lets call it 'undecided'. So if I doubt the existence of one involved supreme power of good then it reasons the same would go for a single force of evil, right? Maybe I just am drawn to the struggle between right and wrong which translates better in stories/movies thru god vs devil? I think my darker side would have been a more destructive force in my life if not for my parents. Who knows? Anyway, there are many great 'devil' movies out there to check out like devil's advocate, 9th gate, devil wears prada-lol, oh god you devil, an incovient truth (gore is devil? lol), etc etc etc....

some things/thoughts

I have been less than motivated to post lately and busy, living. Not sure what has got in to the browns lately, but it's AWESOME and i'm just going to enjoy it and hope it continues!! Maybe we have the Real McCoy!! Read/reading a couple of great books lately, read A year of living Biblically over vacation and i'm reading the last George Carlin book right now, both great/funny reads with deep moments. I love reading (more than writing cause there are way better writers than me around) but don't find/make enough time for more reading. Hopeing/looking forward to getting/reading the BaBa Boey book, and maybe the Jim Bruer or Greg Fitzimonds books.

Had a good time at (not as good as my wife, but good) at the Haloween party where we first met. It's funny to me that I never ever searched for what I have and yet I was lucky enough to have it find me. Wonder why that happens when I see things I see in the world. There are 5 situations that I can't/won't talk in detail about that make me: a) very thankful for where things are in my life, b) wonder how others got where they are, c) why people behave/react the way they do, and d) would I have seen it, done it, or acted it? Guess that's why life is the best classroom, because you can always ask 'what would I have done?' The only thing I know to do is be the best friend I can be, offer advice when asked or an ear to listen if not asked. I don't pray, but whatever you wanna call it, I hope for people to have better luck or continued luck with the things they are going thru and for others to have better judgement/behavior and appreciate what they do have.

On a lighter note, the bucks bball had a scrimmage sunday and play their first regular game fri and though it is early, I am way stoked for this season. The freshman class seems possible of living up to the expectations and gelling well with the returning upper class (whom looked to have continued their growth). Football begins again (after a bye week) sat and hope for another strong nov finish and B10 (11,12....) Championship and hopefully BCS game. We will see, most important is beating T.U.N. whom still has no defense, but WOW what an offense!

Holiday season is starting, good luck to everyone! Wish I didn't know anyone to donate to, but feel good this season that my family is doing very little gift giving (aside from my nephew) and are choosing to donate what we can afford to help people who really have a need. In all my sillyness and fanatisism i've always had a good base that football and sports are a release/escape from real life. The older I get and the more that happens, i'd happily give up all these hobies if it meant eliminating the reasons why we need to escape. ".... but words will never hurt me." they might not hurt, but what they mean/represent scare the f-ing shit out of me. Anyway, i'll be thankful for my health and hopeful for good health on the horizon for others not so fortunate.

so there are some ramblings from my mind, if they are hard to follow and jump all over the place, sorry but imagine having those bounce around your head and trying to keep them in order. I'm amazed I can walk and talk at the same time! lol

I'm suffering from PHCD (post hair cut depression) today

Have the ipod rocking (PJ Seattle last show 2000) and being sans rocker hair is bumming me out today. It was my choice and the rest of the week it was nice, but need some head banging on a friday. Oh well, the tunes are still awesome. If I may go old man for a second..... the problem with (most) new music is a lack of confindence/power/assuredness/definition? Not sure the best word, but I can describe it.....

Great rock (or any music) grabs you and throws you against the wall and says 'i'm going this way and if your with me grab a life jacket, comfy shoes, and your after sex smoke - this is going to be intense"....

Today's music kind of says, "um excuse me sir, i'll be over hear in the elevator playing nice and soft not really bothering anyone, if you want to check me out i'd really appreciate it"....

NO F-ing Balls!!

I'm gonna Lukin!! Faster Master!!

I miss you hair, i'm sure you'll be back for the next tour!! "Restless soul enjoy your youth"

apparently that doesn't work

Sorry, but for some reason the video makes me go microman whilst the audio stays normal before being cut off because the video us 'fin'. The only video camera we have is on wifes apple and when I watched it back on that laptop it was fine, but after hearing that there might be issues I watched on my windows laptop and es no mui bueno! Not sure why that is, but I may try and figure out or just say F it and continue going 'old school'. Gotta love technology.

i don't believe anymore day....

When I was a kid my dad wouldn't answer questions about our heritage when I had to do the "where did you come from" paper in school. He would say over and over "your American" when I ask "what am I". It was partly funny, partly a good lesson to take pride in my country and partly a lesson in looking forward not backward. Possibly it was a way to not answer, "we F'd our way thru all of Europe and some other parts of the world and therefore your a mutt", but who knows? My mother is a very civic minded person who instilled in me a great love and believe in the importance of being heard and voting. I have always voted and when I was younger I was staunchly republican. I say most people trend more liberal when young and get more conservative as they age and get more to lose (family, job, etc). I (as usual) do things backwards and the older I get the more liberal I get or more accurately the more angry I get towards not having a party that I believe in. I don't believe I'm getting more liberal or conservative, just more doubtful in the purpose or power of the individual vote. In theory the power of the individual is great, but if all the options are different shades of the same color - don't we lose that power? I fear so, liberal big government is still the worst to me (see the b.s. train we might get from gov ted if he is reelected- a new bridge to nowhere waste of money project), but the republican party is less and less about true government down size agenda's. Instead they are becoming the Theocracy party, ironically using people's fear of Islam and fundamentalist jihadist to garner votes when if you look at a social behavior check list they kind of go hand in hand. The christian right just uses long dresses and heavy cheap walmart makeup and/or bonnets/glasses etc etc instead of a Hydra (Muslim head scarf you see women where). Seriously, homophobia-check, prolife-check, media sensorship-check, integration of religion and politics-check, proguns and capital punishment-check (although I'm fine with guns and cap punishment). Mainly (aside from Jesus vs Mohamed) their big difference is on how to handle the Jews (as if they are animals?and need handled), christians take a more tolerate and let them be stance, believing fully they will pay by burning in hell for not believing; where as Muslims perspective trends to a more 'Germany circa 1939-45' goal. Now, duh, not all Christians or Muslims feel this way (maybe even a small minority do but the are a driven/vocal minority), but what is the saying? only female cockroaches bite? (if you can't tell the difference the exterminator just gets rid of all of them). Something like that, anyway I feel like a man without a party and I didn't vote this morning and right now don't feel like I will tonight, thus incurring the wrath of my mother (scary). Maybe someday a real revolution will begin and I can get behind it and not the F-ing tea party. The 'hey republicans aren't far enough right for us' people? How come most of the 'don't tread on me' bumper stickers I see are on 50k dollar on up vehicles? Vomit.

We need true FISCAL conservatism. Small government spending wisely with smart regulations that allow free markets to work while monitoring large corporations for abuse (you know before they go Lehman brothers or Enron) and little social intervention. I don't want to see anyone making out on the streets (gay, straight, bi whatever) but if you wanna go back to your crib and throw your tongue up a tranny's bunghole more power to you, leave me out of it. Shit these commercials are getting to me, I'd vote for Eva Braun, sorry I mean Mrs Palin if she promised to put a end to all political commercials! They are driving me nuts! I just want to watch the Charlie Sheens weekly biography called Two and a half Men on CBS without being annoyed! Well, sorry about that rant or if I offend anyone, if your in the 5% of people who didn't cast your ballot 5 weeks ago via mail (sure that won't lead to any voter fraud?! not) and are going to vote today, hope that you have a short line. Vote for Charlie Brown, he couldn't let us down!
