Yesterday began another trip with Moses through the desert to the promise land. We do have a new Moses and he is much younger, lets all hope he has a good sense of direction.

Ok, i'll solve the problem
The mainframe server I run is down and I need outside help from the 9-5ers in Cleveland, so let me take this down time to solve some problems......
OK, really just one problem, but its big and I have a great idea - well I think its great. Yes I am aware (before anyone asks) that this will NEVER happen, but it is still a great idea.
THE DEBT CEILING
First off, I used to be a republican and now I believe both parties are the same spend hungry monsters, but with different agendas on how to spend our money and tell us how to live. The dems want to bubble wrap all of America and turn it into a more litigious (if that is possible) society and The reps (and tea partiers) want to turn us in to The United States of Evangelical Christians. Neither of those work for me, so now I just try and ignore politics as much as possible and live my life and have fun with those I care about while I can.
Having said that it might surprise you that I even know there is a crisis looming, but ignoring political talk is about as easy as a reality TV person not saying something stupid, self-centered, or for free. Now this idea is going to sound, like a lot of my thoughts, as anti-religion. However it is really for the protection of religion, bet you didn't see that coming from me!!
OK, here it is..... Raise more revenue by Taxing ALL religions from the mainstream churches to the mosque to the fellowship of Tom Cruise!!
Separation of church and state I take to mean the government won't tell you what to believe, but why should it mean you don't have to pony up for that truly rare privilege? It is expensive to be free and it should be. Nobody I have heard say that the rights we have in America are wrong or undeserved, they just differ on how to protect and fund such rights. Is there another place in history where you can truly practice whatever odd religion you want? Not that I know of, so if on Sunday you are sitting in the pews at the first church of Larry, Mo and Curly - stop and think how fortunate you are and what it is worth to remain free to yuk, yuk, yuk numskull!!
My guess is a 10% "go try to preach that shit in China" tax could generate a billion dollars or more a year. Now I realize that is small potatoes in a 14 trillion dollar deficit, but dammit we have to start thinking outside the box. Its a billion dollars in revenue those boneheads in government don't have now. In the worse case, maybe just the idea will make them go "um yeah, OK maybe we will cut some spending and raise tax on the billionaires a little".
Oh and all my former fellow republican - No Taxes No Taxes - friends. Yeah in theory low taxes and low spending is best plan, but after 8 yrs of a republican spending like a drunken hooker at Tiffany's (aka Newts girls) and almost 3 years of a true lefty dem in office - maybe a little hike on the top won't kill us. Especially if it allows us to cut some entitlement programs. Stop and think about that, a lefty dem president is willing to go to bat against his party on entitlement program cuts to make this work.
Also, if you the repubs are so concerned with the budget and money, then back off the Crusade to kill Planned Parenthood. Do some research or just use common sense if possible, but stopping a program because of social agenda and beliefs is nuts. Especially one that easily saves millions if not billions of dollars by helping to prevent unwanted children that would need to be taken care of by someone (that is Joe taxpayer again). Not to mention the health savings of lowering sexually transmitted diseases and botched back alley abortions (yes they will still try and have that abortion if it is illegal, just they might die too).
You know I really must be nuts. I always do things backwards, aren't I supposed to get more conservative as I get older? Yet I get more and more, hmm liberal isn't the word, I guess its more I'm willing to take shit for believing in true freedom and not freedom according to this or that etc etc etc
One last thing, look around at the owners of your company or any company. Under any president, in any financial climate (be it good or bad), when you struggle to pay the bills, when your vacations became staycations...... Did the big money people really struggle? Really struggle? For-going a new Ferrari the same as fixing an 92 accord to have something to drive? Is getting no dividends for a few years the same as having your 401k drop 60% at the age of 60?
Sadly, I don't really have any great solutions because there are none. Want a great solution, be thankful for your great wife, dog, family, friends, being able to scrape together enough money to go to the shoe once a year or a race or a trip to Tennessee to visit friends. Next time I talk about being broke someone should slap me, I don't think I've ever been close to broke in my life. Lacking funds to do even more cool shit - yes. Broke - no way - I know too many cool people and have too much fun to consider myself broke.
OK, fuck they need to fix this server so I can work, I'm getting sappy and sentimental and shit.

Nice house, is that the only lot?
Everyone gets junk mail and flyers everyday, do not just discard them, look close and maybe you will see something funny. This made me laugh, which is all I really ask.
Beautiful house, but how do you park in the garage? 250k should get one an accessible garage, right?

We bailed out these f-ing c-suckers
After 12 years my friends trusted Chevy caviler finally put out the white flag and said get a new car or walk. Not to put words in his mouth, well actually to put words in his mouth... he is a big Chevy fan and I guess would have liked to buy another Chevy, makes sense when you've had a car for 12 yrs - that you liked and was good to you - that one would be inclined to go back to that company and say what do you have for me? Too bad for him Gimp Motors just doesn't completely get it and what people want. Now the American car companies (well American owned, if you want a car actually mostly made in America, buy a Honda!) are getting better and making better fuel mileage and standard features etc etc etc, but they do some shit that makes one think, "are you fucking serious?".
Now no car company is perfect, but in a 2011 some features should just be standard, unless you are buying a 8,000 dollar KIA, but I think even they make some of these standard:
Power windows, Power Locks, Aux input for mps/ipod/etc and Cruise Control!!
Cruise control is not expensive or difficult to put on a car and frankly should be required because it helps fuel mileage. If only it helped stupid drivers, but there is probably nothing than can solve that crisis.
Chevy "Runs deep" - guess deep means runs hiding in to the dark!! The base model of the Chevy CRUZE (their version of the affordable mid-compact, ala Civic, Corrolla, Sonota, whatever crap Ford is selling) does not have cruise control! Let me be clear, IT IS NOT AN AVAILABLE OPTION AT ALL, it would be embarrassing if it was a paid upgrade...not being able to physically buy the base model (starting around 17k) with cruise control is a clear statement on how those geniuses ran their company into the ground.
check for yourself here: http://www.chevrolet.com/cruze/features-specs/
Positive end to the story, my friend bought a 2011 Dodge Avenger and it is a sharp looking ride with better power and (here is a novel idea) lots of features including a yr of Sirius radio which he will love! Oh and it does have cruise control. Now dodge still needs to step up in the gas mileage ratings, but they are not to far off. Plus I have a cousin that works for Dodge, so anything that helps him I'm for.
Since this is a car post and for the car people that may read this... Corvette fans sit down now!!
Rumor has it that the next generation Corvette could be mid-engine with paddle shifters. Sorry, not my decision just passing on the bad news. Paddle shifters on street cars are the devil, great for F1, but leave it for the track.

a little pep talk for the peeps of buckeye nation
Today the bucks added a replacement coach to fill the gap on defense with a 3 time super bowl champ, all pro, and former buckeye - Mike Vrabel. What do I hear about from multiple people? Some turn coat coward from "don't ask us why we have kids every year named Mohammad when we are a catholic high school" St. Eds has jumped ship to go to that filthy pit hole up north. He also has talked some smack about more guys crossing the boarder to head north, like that is news! Any one that knows college football knows that the winged helmet is really more of a buckeye branch campus than a stand alone football program. Seriously, they should change the name of that program to The Ohio State University: Ann Arbor (aka the b program), I mean this will never happen because neither side wants it and they still hold delusions that they compete at the same level we do. Seriously, crunch the numbers since the abandonment of leather helmets and see the mediocrity that they want people to hail to, they are golden domers for atheists. If a team could win with mostly Michigan high school players, sparty wouldn't suck so bad. Team up North is only competitive because they are able to recruit Ohio. Guess what a lot of schools pluck from Ohio, we can't afford to loose a lot and in consecutive years, but we will always loose some and occasionally have a bad year, but things will be OK... have a drink, take a breath and relax. Do you wanna be a big fish in a little pond or do you wanna be the great white shark in the ocean? Ok, even I don't get that metaphor and I wrote it, but you get what I mean - we rock and I don't want to be them even when times are tough for us. Buckeye nation needs to realize that the richrod years were nice, but not meant to last - and that is the same for the darkness possibly heading our way the next couple of years. Lets hope our greasy palms slip enough money to the ncaa that they take our "we vacate and say sorry" penalty and let us go on our way. Lets also hope that this years team rallies around each other (and by each other I exclude midget bauserman he sucks) and Coach Fickell and has a great season. There is plenty of talent on this team and if any recruiting whoa's come our way it should not effect things for a couple of years. Also, if this team comes together and wins in spite of this cloud and there are no sanctions or only one year of sanctions then we will see where these guys actually sign on the first Wednesday in February.
Bleeding Scarlet and Gray is not for the weak, if you travel and some dickhead asks you "You still wear that shirt now?" You tell him you wear 2 for when you meet a loser like him and asks if he is ready to convert and have his come to Woody meeting?!
Time and Change will surely show....
Man you would think it would take a enemy to get me that mad, but it was the 6 texts I got from fellow buckeyes, this town needs some serious group therapy. Of course I should probably be the last person in the world subscribing therapy to others!! Relax, at least gas prices are low, the economy is strong and america is not on the brink of filing chapter 11. Um, ah, hem... where is that drink?!

not to proud to beg...
Ok, this is a fyi for some of my music friends who might read this, but also sadly a shameful "hey if you wanna buy me a cool gift" fyi for those that might take pitty on me or find me deserving of gift. Anyway, not that I don't have enough music to listen to, but this sounds frick sweet, so check it out.
